The following explanations provide you with an overview of what data is collected, processed and used for what purpose, and how we ensure the protection of this data.

1. Usage Data

When you visit our website, general data of this visit is automatically stored in a log file. It is stored solely for system-related and statistical purposes and, in exceptional cases, for reporting criminal acts.

The data is not passed on to third parties or analyzed otherwise, unless there is a statutory obligation to do so.

Specifically, the following data record is stored each time a page is retrieved:

  • name of the page retrieved
  • date and time the page was retrieved
  • the data volume transferred
  • message whether the page request was successful
  • the type of web browser used
  • the operating system used
  • the site previously visited
  • the internet service provider
  • the user’s IP address

2. Personal Data

We collect, process and use personal data only if we are permitted to do so under law or if you have given us your consent.

Contact
When you contact us, we store your data for the purpose of processing your inquiry, as well as for subsequent correspondence, if applicable. All data is deleted after your inquiry has been dealt with in full. This does not apply to data that has to be retained by law or is subject to other regulations.

3. Cookies

We use cookies on our website to enhance visitor experience and enable usage of specific functions. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your terminal device. Some of the cookies we use are deleted again when the browser session is ended, i.e., after your close your browser (“session cookies”). Other cookies remain on your terminal device and enable us to recognize your browser the next time you visit the website (“persistent cookies”).

The cookies cannot be used to access other files on your computer or identify your email address.

By default, most browsers are set to accept cookies automatically. If you use the default settings for cookies in your browser, all the above processes are executed in the background without further notice. However, you can decide to modify these settings.

You can set your browser to either prompt you whenever cookies are received, so that you can decide individually whether to accept or decline them, or to exclude acceptance of cookies for specific cases or in general.

However, declining cookies will cause some functions of the website to not work correctly, so we recommend accepting cookies for the best visitor experience.

4. Web Analytics with Piwik

Our website uses Piwik (http://piwik.org), an open source software for analyzing site traffic. Piwik uses cookies, text files as described in the previous paragraph. The information on visitors’ usage of our website is stored on our servers in Germany and not passed on to any third parties. The IP address of each visitor is anonymized immediately in the process and before it is stored.

You can prevent installation of the cookies by checking the respective option in your browser settings; however, we point out that if you do so, you may not be able to make full use all functions on our website.

You can also object to your data being used by Piwik. In this case, a cookie containing merely the information that Piwik is not allowed to collect any data on you is stored on your browser. Cookies that have already been stored previously are then deleted. However, if you delete all cookies in your browser later, you may have to object again to your data being used.

5. Use of Google Maps

We use Google Maps to show maps and travel directions. Google Maps is operated by Google Inc. (Google), 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

In order for Google Maps to be integrated, Google must be able to identify your IP address, as without this information, the contents might not be able to be sent to your browser. I.e., your IP address is required for the contents to be transmitted and displayed. We have no influence on whether Google stores your IP address, e.g., for statistical purposes.

6. Security

We have taken technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal data against inadvertent or unlawful deletion or modification, loss and unauthorized disclosure or access.

7. Links to Other Websites

Our website contains links to other websites. We are neither responsible for the content of these websites nor for their privacy policies.

8. Changes to the Privacy Policy

As part of further development of our website, we will also keep on adapting our privacy policy. We will announce changes to it on this site in good time. You should therefore call this site regularly to find out the latest information on the current status of data privacy.
